It did what it said on the tin – jazz in a park. Last weekend saw the 17th incarnation of Bogota’s ‘Jazz al Parque’, a jazz festival held both down south in Plaza Ferial de 20 de Julio and up north in leafy Parque Metropolitano El Country. As it was my week as staff photographer at Plaza Capital, Universidad del Rosario’s student news website, it was my heavy duty to head out to both Plaza Ferial and the Country Club and groove around with Bogota’s (inexplicably, almost universally good looking) appreciators of weird time signatures and a good trumpet solo. If I hadn’t been drowning under homework and had a little time to spare it might’ve even been a relaxing way to pass the weekend. Anyway, the little I saw was a lot of fun and resulted in this gallery, a joint effort by myself and Paula, an excellent photographer from my Periodismo Gráfico class who, for some reason, wasn’t credited on the website.
Heading up to the Caribbean, to Santa Marta and Parque Nacional Tayrona in a few days! Stay tuned.
